Turn Back Time is Hiring an Early Preschool Assistant Teacher Near Paxton, MA

Position details:

Turn Back Time is seeking a teacher candidate for the 2024/2025 school year. The dates of employment are Sept 1 through June 15.

This is a school-year long salaried position with paid time off. The work schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-4:15 p.m. with additional hours in our Critter Catchers class that runs in the Spring and Fall on Monday and Wednesday (7 weeks each session) from 3:30-6:00.

Turn Back Time is a nonprofit with a mission to help individuals recognize nature’s ability to teach and heal. Our preschool program is licensed by the EEC and runs from September to June in all weather conditions. We are an inclusive program known for supporting children with challenging behaviors and giving them an educational/social/recreational experience with their peers that they may not be able to have otherwise. We are a cross between a forest kindergarten, a nature preschool and a farm education program. As a general rule we spend more than 75% of our day outside. Turn Back Time sees unstructured outdoor play as its main vehicle for teaching.

Preschool teaching duties include but are not limited to:

  • Helps to plan curriculum activities based on themes and provides opportunities and projects to connect to curriculum.
  • Helps to plan and implement daily literature exposure opportunities.
  • Oversees daily tasks and stations within the learning environment to ensure safety and flow with assistants and support staff.
  • Identifies and documents learning goals for each child.
  • Helps to plan and implement strategies for behavior management.
  • Connects curriculum to learning standards using the frameworks worksheet.
  • Helps complete class progress reports
  • Posts to Brightwheel on a regular basis.
  • Fills our incident reports as necessary.
  • Include 15 minutes for prep and 15 minutes for cleanup daily.
  • Attends monthly preschool teacher meetings

Additional requirements:

  • Minimum EEC “teacher” certification, Lead Teacher preferred.
  • Must be resilient, comfortable with being outdoors in all weather majority of day.
  • First aid/CPR certified.
